Municipal & Public Works
Municipal projects operate under public scrutiny with strict procurement requirements—DOT specifications, federal funding compliance, and construction windows set by permits and public meetings.
Galloway serves municipalities, DOT contractors, and public works departments with specification-grade materials stocked at regional locations across the US.
Why municipal contractors choose Galloway:
Permit delays and schedule changes are part of public work. We adapt to revised timelines and deliver when construction windows open, with domestic and BABA-compliant material options for federally funded projects.

Galloway stocks the complete broadband build package across our regional distribution network: OSP fiber, closures and cabinets, conduit, below-grade enclosures, aerial hardware, and the installation tools and consumables that keep crews productive.
Our team has supported FTTH builds for over 20 years, from rural cooperatives to Tier 2/3 ISPs deploying thousands of passings. We stock based on your project timelines and release materials as construction progresses—so when supply tightens, you keep building.

What municipal projects require:
Conduit Systems
PVC Schedule 80 Conduit
Heavy-duty rigid conduit for road crossings and high-load public rights-of-way.
Bore-Gard Trenchless Raceway
ETL-listed PVC system for directional drilling with locking bell joints—minimizes surface disruption on public streets.
Steel Pipe & Fittings
Casing and crossing pipe for DOT road bores. Domestic and BABA-compliant options.
HDPE Couplings & Fittings
Joining and transition systems for municipal conduit networks.
The permit decides the method.
Under a city street, open cut with Schedule 80 may be all you need. Under a state highway or a rail crossing, the DOT specifies a bore — Bore-Gard pulled into the bore path, or a steel casing carrying the run. We stock all three, so the permit doesn't change your supplier.
Municipal Fiber Networks
Fiber Optic Cable
OSP fiber for city networks, traffic systems, and public safety communications.
Fiber Closures & Cabinets
Splice closures and distribution cabinets for municipal network nodes.
One duct, every department.
Traffic signals, public safety radio, building I-Net, and municipal broadband arrive as separate projects with separate budgets — and the same trench. Size the pathway for all of them now, and the second project doesn't reopen the street.
WorkZone safety & marking
PPE & Safety Equipment
ANSI high-visibility clothing, MUTCD roll-up signs, and sign stands for public rights-of-way work.
Marking & Identification
Marking paint, flags, and identification for buried municipal utilities.
Tracer wire
Locating wire for non-metallic municipal utility lines.
Locating & Detection Equipment
Precision locating ahead of excavation in congested rights-of-way.
Find theirs before you dig. Leave yours findable.
Every municipal dig opens by locating what's already under the street and closes by laying tracer wire over what you just put in, so the next crew finds it too. Locators, tracer wire, paint, and MUTCD signs — on the same order as the conduit.
BEAD & Government Broadband Programs
Municipal fiber projects and state broadband grants carry sourcing and documentation requirements that shape material selection long before the trench opens. Galloway stocks specification-grade conduit, fiber, and work-zone materials, with domestic options where funding rules require them.
