Fiber Closures & Cabinets
Closures, cabinets, and housings protect and organize fiber at every access point in the network, from the splice closure in the vault, to the distribution cabinet on the pad, to the network interface device (NID) at the subscriber premises. Splice closures fall into two primary families: Aerial, strand-mount, and underground or direct-buried, each engineered for very different environmental loads. Correct specification at the design stage ensures the network can scale with subscriber take-rate over time.

AFL Apex® Sealed Splice Closures — Capacity by Model
AFL's Apex family covers the same span-to-hub range as the FOSC series, with a wedge-based gel sealing system that re-enters tool-free — each cable port releases with a lever and seals with a single screw. All three sizes are rated for direct bury, handhole, aerial and pole/wall mounting (GR-771, 20 ft waterhead, −40°F to 149°F), and take up to 16 drop cables with multi-drop entry kits.
